One of the things i love to do in life is travel. A bonus is when i can visit an area or beach for ideas to create new art such as this recent release of my Topsail Island Print.
I recently made a roadtrip to Onslow Beach, NC and stayed in a small lodge the USMC base, Camp Lejuene, owns & rents to military and retirees-like myself. This location allowed me to scout the Crystal Coast from Beaufort down to the
southern tip of Topsail Island for potential retirement communities. The wide open beaches of the area was a big plus even though it was January and far from the busy season. I could only imagine that even in the height of the summer season the ex
panse of beaches would allow for room for all to enjoy. All the towns on the island seemed under developed as far as
commercially, but it was rental heaven for sure. I found the scenery and people i ran into just great.
Here is the southern most tip of Topsail Beach, which i walked the entire length of from the public crossover on the ocean side to the public parking lot on the inlet side and ICW-where the parking lot is almost hidden. The expanse of the dunes is quite vast and the amount of shorebirds, ducks, gulls, and seashells were abundant & rewarding.
